In 2024, Sober Life Project founder Steve Wilson tragically lost his 22 year old nephew, Samuel Paul Zurbuch, in an alcohol related car accident.
In honor of her son, Zurbuch’s mother established a foundation to keep his spirit alive by supporting education, trade skills, rugby and wellness awareness.
“So many times when I’d talk about Sam’s accident I’d say, I just want us to do something good — I want us to make his tragedy beautiful,” she proudly explains.
After graduating high school, Zurbuch jumped right into a career as an HVAC Technician. He had a deep passion for playing rugby, dancing and country music. He took great pride in his truck, his work tools and his favorite cowboy boots.
He will be remembered as a devoted and caring brother, known for his infectious smile and quick wit. Above all, his unwavering love for his family and friends will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
If you knew Sam or would simply like to support his foundation’s mission, please send donations to: Samuel Paul, 6524 Adams Center Road, Fort Wayne, IN 46816.
